Feb 2016
At a Teacher Only Day, we unpacked 'Ka Hikitia In Action'. We each read a section and reported back to the rest of the staff. I found all the case studies really heart warming - there are lots of people doing lots of wonderful things, all around the country. I liked the look of the template that was being used for Whanau Goal Setting on pg 13 and have emailed the Ministry to ask where I can get a template for this from. Here are the notes I took on the sections I had to report on:

Development of student goal setting sheet (based on template seen in Ka Hikitia)
2016
It is worth noting that this year, I have no students in my class who identify as Maori.
25 January, 2017
Today we had a great session (led by Debbie, one of my colleagues) about the Tataiako competencies and what they mean. I made some notes based on the discussion we had as a staff.
We also completed a Toku Pepeha based on Halcombe School. When we study Maoritanga in Term 2, this will be something I work on with my students.
Taumata O Te Ra Visit - 10 May 2017
Following a visit to one of our local marae, our staff completed a PMI chart.
Term 2, 2017
We've had a real focus on Te Reo during this term. The students learnt a lot of simple Te Reo - greetings, commands, numbers, colours, names of people etc.
