30 July 2015
Students work in mixed-ability groups while investigating electrical circuits.

26 August 2015
Participate in the Staff vs Students netball match.

15-17 Feb 2016
While at our beginning of year camp at Sixtus Lodge, students participated in a wide variety of games and challenges designed at fostering trust, respect and cooperation.

16 August 2016
I organised a sports exchange with another school, involving more than 60 students from across our senior team.  For many students, events like this are the highlight of the year.

20 August 2016
Students had the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in gymnastics at a display for parents.  Risk taking was encouraged, as students strived to achieve their goals and develop new skills.

13 September 2016
I used two students from our top maths class to teach the students in my class how to use a compass.  They designed a course where the kids had to navigate using a compass - lots of fun!

21 September 2016
In the Student Council Fun Day, members of our student council were involved with the planning, organisation and running of different events.  I supervised everything, but encouraged the students to develop their leadership skills and get into it!

November 2016
Our class camp to Nydia Bay in the Marlborough Sounds gave the students many opportunities to take risks and step outside their comfort zone.  On the first night - 14 November - we experienced a serious earthquake.  After the earthquake, there was a massive storm that brought non-stop rain for 48 hours.  This certainly provided a number of challenges (such as not being able to drink the water from the tap), but didn't stop the students from having loads of fun.  We were thrown a lot of curve balls during this camp, and it was a great opportunity for me to learn and gain experience in dealing with all sorts of tricky situations.

30 March 2017
Today the students participated in a Technology Challenge.  This was a hands-on, practical task where the students had to work in groups to construct a tower that would hold a cup of water.  We talked a lot about how to make sure each group functioned well and were successful.

12 June 2017
When our class was rostered onto the construction playground, the boys had a competition to see who could build the 'biggest, bestest, baddest' fort.  They had to work together to build their fort.  Here is a picture of the fort the Year 7 boys made:

30 June 2017
Our Student Council organised a school disco.  My job is to guide the students so they feel confident and competent to run a successful disco.  And it was a massive success!

4 July 2017
Today we shared our learning with our Buddy Class.  This is a fantastic way to build relationships across the school, and foster trust and cooperation.
